Fuji 9mp Compact Digital Camera Review
by admin

In today’s market there are so many digital cameras to choose from.  You can become dizzy by just thinking about your options.  The questions can be endless…how many megapixels should I buy, what size LCD would be best, are there any special features I need? etc etc etc.

Well allow me to introduce you to one of the better compact digital cameras on the market. Say hello to the Fuji 9mp Compact Digital Camera.

Let’s get right into it.  This camera is proving to be a great buy for many consumers and here are some of the reasons:

  • It has a fast start up for when you need to take that spur of the moment photo
  • At 9-megapixel this Fuji camera captures enough detail for high photo-quality even in 17 x 23-inch prints
  • The 4x optical zoom allows you to capture the finest details
  • Even better is the 7.6x digital zoom
  • The 2.0-inch LCD display is easy on the eyes
  • Real Photo Technology provides faster operation
  • Low noise processing
  • Provides good low-light shots
  • High shutter speeds of 15s – 1/2000s
  • Stores images on xD Picture Cards
  • The Fuji 9mp Compact Digital Camera is powered by 2 AA-size batteries which are included
  • The camera is compatible with optional lens adapters that can increase optical zoom
  • You can record AVI (Motion JPEG) with sound at 640 x 480 pixels 30 frames per second/320 x 240 pixels 30 frames per second
  • You can shoot up to 300 photos before the battery needs to be recharged
  • Comes with an automatic lens cover
  • Produces great photos with or without the flash
  • Compact camera for easy portability

What’s not so great?

The ‘not so great’ features that follow are totally relative to what you require in a digital camera.  Needless to say the  Fuji 9mp Compact Digital Camera is not perfect, but then again which camera is.

After you have a look at what I think is not so great, you decide for yourself if the points are relevant to your needs.

  • The lens lacks a filter thread but this would only affect you if you like using UV, neutral grey or polarizing filters.
  • The LCD screen resolution could be a bit better
  • RAW converter is not very good
  • The flash is a manual pop-up … in today’s technology era we want automatic all the way
  • The software is less than perfect, but you can get away with using other branded software
  • Manual focus is poorly-implemented
  • Image stabilization is limited at lower ISO speeds

Even after listing the minor flaws, I still would not bin this camera as the pros far outweigh the cons.

In and of itself the  Fuji 9mp Compact Digital Camera does what it says on the box.

When compared to other brands, you’ll find shortcomings with any camera.  You would find that there are features that are superior as well.  It all depends on what you are looking for in a digital camera.

This camera would not be suitable if you are an advanced digital camera user, especially if you like to explore and utilize most if not all the features of your digital camera.  For the average user who wants great photos, this camera is quite adequate if you know your way around good digital photo software.
