Common iPhone Problems
by admin

Every device no matter how brilliantly designed will have a few technical issues. Once you get over the initial pleasure you will inevitably start to notice a few things you don’t like. The iPhone is no exception to this rule and while many people claim to be perfectly contented there are also a lot of people who acknowledge that the iPhone has its downsides.

The most obvious first port of call for anyone encountering iPhone problems is the Apple iPhone Troubleshooting Assistant. It gives you a run down of the most common problems encountered with the iPhone. First up it offers advice on how to deal with an iPhone which has trouble recharging. Then it suggests that you restart the device if it is frozen, which is the IT equivalent of telling you to turn your computer off and on again.

They also show you how to reset your iPhone which will actually solve most basic problems. They suggest removing content which may have caused a problem. Finally they show you how to reset the iPhone and retain all your content and then as a last resort how to reset to factory conditions which will erase all your settings and content. It is fairly basic stuff and will only help if you have a basic problem. There are further sections which will help you out with calls and connection issues, your iPhone not appearing in iTunes and issues with sending or receiving email.

Beyond some of these simple iPhone problems there have also been various faults reported. Connectivity issues, missing functionality, dropped calls and faulty chargers have all been reported. At Mahalo you will find a very useful page of resource links to deal with various different problems. Whether you need to fix your Bluetooth or want to use third-party headphones there is a good chance you will find a solution there.

The iPhone has come in for plenty of praise since its release and deservedly so. However at PC Advisor they have compiled a list of the top 50 flaws with the iPhone. It seems a bit pedantic to me and many of them will surely be dealt with in new generations of the device. There are also things on the list that people have developed apps to cater for. Still it is an antidote to the glowing praise and there are some fair criticisms there.

Not everyone is a fan of the iPhone and over at BoingBoing you can find a comical round up of various top ten problem lists about the device. The lack of a cut and paste ability seems to be the biggest recurring complaint. People are also annoyed that they can’t replace the battery and the poor camera and GPS both come in for some criticism too.

We’ve had a good look at some of the biggest iPhone problems but how about providing some solutions? Well if you are looking to deal with a problem and you can’t find a good answer via Apple support you may need to look elsewhere. Over at cnet there is a great article highlighting five applications that could help you out. Need more space? Want to pay less for texting? Want to check up on your free monthly allowance? Need a to-do list that syncs with Outlook? Want to connect to Wi-Fi? There are apps for all these problems.

The iPhone is far from perfect but each new generation of technology improves upon on the last and we can expect the device to get better as new versions are released. In the meantime hopefully you can find a solution to your problem through one of the links above.
