Role playing games (RPG) became popular in the 80s with Dungeons and Dragons. Despite criticism that the games are “satanic” or have ties to witchcraft, the games have continued to be popular. Many online RPG games, like their offline counterparts, are considered to be violent and full of obscenities. When the goal is to save the world, often there are casualties.
