The Pokemon franchise was created back in 1995 and has taken the world by storm and proving popular with children everywhere. The original Japanese brand was Pocket Monsters and apparently the idea was inspired by the bizarre hobby of insect collecting. In the games and television series Pokemon trainers travel around the world and capture all manner of strange creatures. The creatures have various powers and they can be trained up. They face off in arenas and battle each other with the winning trainer claiming both creatures at the end of the match.
The Pokemon franchise is owned by Nintendo and it is the second biggest selling video game franchise ever after Mario. Nintendo have released several Pokemon games over the years for a variety of handheld and console devices. Pokemon Emerald came out in Japan in 2004 on the Game Boy Advance. It was released in the US and Europe the following year and it is basically an enhanced remake of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire which adds a few new features. The game sold over 6 million copies in the US alone and so there has been plenty of demand for a good Pokemon Emerald walkthrough.
