Some people like dressing their kids in silly outfits. For some people, it’s their dog. And for still others it’s their cell phone. Fortunately, cell phone aficionados with Motorola phones have a wide range of options to choose from. In this article, we describe options and considerations for Motorola cell phone covers

Before running out and purchasing a cover, you’ll want to think a little bit about what you want. Are you looking for something functional that will protect the phone if it falls out of your pocket or purse? Do you want to be able to clip the phone to your belt? Or are you looking for something that makes a statement about who you are?

With so many options to choose from, the following are some ideas for narrowing down your choices.

Do you want a faceplate or a full phone cover? Faceplates are covers that fit over the phone changing the look (and sometimes the feel) of the device. For example, if you’re in a dragon kind of mood, you can get one with scales. Those interested in the great outdoors can cover their phone with any variety of tree, leaves, barks, moss or animal prints. For patriotic types, there’s red, white and blue. These covers will protect your phone if it falls (of course, the cover might get broken) and are ideal for someone seeking to “make a statement” (or, perhaps, several statements) in personalizing their phone.

Full covers or cases are the pouch or pocket-like devices that one often sees sitting on the technophiles hip. They might be made from one of a wide range of materials, including plastic, leather, micro-fiber, rubber or cloth.

Like the faceplates, cases come in a variety of colors and patterns. In fact, regardless of the material used Motorola cell phone covers can be found in all colors of the spectrum, from Goth-style black (complete with skulls!) to fairy princess pink. Most cases have a mechanism for clipping the phone to something tangible, such as a belt hook, a purse strap or backpack.

If you do decide to go the case route for your Motorola cell phone covers, you’ll want to think about how you’ll use the case. Will you remove the phone from the case whenever you answer a call? Or should your case be a slimmed down variety (along the lines of a “body glove”) that stays on the phone at all times? Will you be using your phone in situations where it could get wet? If so, you might consider a rubberized case
that offers some protection from water.

Note that one of the advantages of cases versus faceplates is that, in some cases, faceplates might require some assembly. If you’re not the kind of person who can comfortably wield a screwdriver without getting nervous about the outcome, you might want to “test the waters” by starting out with a simple to use case instead.

Of course, if you truly want to make a statement with your Motorola cell phone covers, you’ll get a variety of faceplates as well as a protective case. That way, you’ll be able to take advantage of all the benefits both a faceplate and a case have to offer.
